Least privilege: if the role never refunds or deletes, remove those tools. Logging is not a substitute for removal.

Design the RAG and integration surface

Match retrieval, MCP or API, identity, and observability to the data and the blast radius — not a connector list.

Put an eval gate in front of "it works"

Golden cases, pass/fail, cost and latency. If a refresh breaks answers, start at retrieval — not the model weights.
